In reality, LST SCUTTLEBUTT is a tabloid newspaper, and it functions solely for
the benefit of the membership. Member participation is not only encouraged, it is welcomed as a unique departure from standard material. Each issue is comprised of about sixty-four pages. Calling it a newsletter would be quite misleading. Members look forward to receiving each issue with its most interesting articles and features.
Each issue of SCUTTLEBUTT features many articles about:
- Sea Stories
- Ship histories
- Letters to the Editor
- Many, many pictures
- Personal experiences
- Schedule of upcoming reunions
- Individual reports of ship reunions
- National events pertinent to our self-interests
- Battle action, beacheads and other landings in World War II, Korea, etc.
- Just about anything that a member submits for publication (commentary, humor, fiction, etc.)
SCUTTLEBUTT is sent out to almost 10,000 members. Annual dues of only $18.00 are paid to the U.S. LST Association and include a subscription to this fine publication. Advertising is limited to categories specifically of interest to the membership of the association.
